Orlando GoFundMe campaign gets donations from over 92000 people
There’s been a major proliferation of crowdfunding campaigns to benefit the victims Sunday’s Orlando nightclub shooting and their families, with more than 100 fundraising drives connected to the tragedy being hosted on GoFundMe alone, Slate writes.

Equality Florida, the state’s largest LGBT advocacy group, started the fundraiser on Sunday, June 12, hours after a gunman killed 49 people and injured dozens more at Pulse, a popular gay nightclub, in the deadliest mass shooting in USA history. Early Tuesday morning, the campaign had raised $2.8 million.
“Your support demonstrates the incredible good in this world”, the page reads.
To donate to Equality Florida’s fundraiser, visit GoFundMe online.
Money has been pouring in from all over the world since a fund-raising campaign was set up for the victims of last weekend’s Orlando, Fla., club massacre, which was the deadliest shooting in US history.
Money will be used for nonprofits that support victims and their families, the LGBTQ, Hispanic, faith and other “affected communities”, and “underlying causes of this tragic event”, according to the fund’s website.

Equality Florida’s campaign is only the second GoFundMe campaign to collect US$1 million, and it is by far the fastest to do so. “With 74,000 cast members who call Orlando home, we mourn the loss of the victims and offer our condolences to their families, friends and loved ones”.
