Judge Blocks More Planned Parenthood Video Releases by Anti-Abortion Group

Planned Parenthood has come under scrutiny after the release of secretly recorded videos that showed officials discussing how they obtain organs from aborted fetuses for research.

On Friday, Judge William Orrick in San Francisco issued a temporary restraining order against the center that had been requested hours earlier by the National Abortion Federation.

In 2014, several Center for Medical Progress representatives managed to infiltrate into the professional group’s annual meeting held at San Francisco by posing as executives of a biotech start-up.

The lawsuit seeks a court order halting further releases of videos containing names, addresses and other private information about NAF members, including information drawn from the group’s meetings.

David Daleiden, the head of The Center for Medical Progress, called the National Abortion Federation, to which multiple Planned Parenthood affiliates belong, a “criminal organization” in a statement Friday.

NAF President Vicki Saporta said the videos jeopardize the safety of the organizations members, and that “the safety and security of our members is our top priority”.

Joined by male protesters, hundreds of women who felt “betrayed” by abortion service provider Planned Parenthood gathered in front of the US Capitol in Washington on Tuesday to denounce the deceptive activities of the company.

According to CNN, Mr. Daleiden has accused Planned Parenthood of using its political allies to prevent the release of the recordings.

But officials at the National Abortion Federation said the restraining order was necessary because they claim the videos were illegally recorded.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough ripped the media for bias in how it covers abortion immediately after Morning Joe aired a slanted NBC News segment on the undercover Planned Parenthood videos about fetal organ sales.

“The Center for Medical Progress follows all applicable laws in the course of our investigative journalism work“, the group said.

Additionally, the SBA report notes that after Clinton announced that she was running for president, Planned Parenthood sent out a press release welcoming her to the presidential field and called her candidacy a “historic moment”.

The sale of baby parts by Planned Parenthood is not a “manufactured controversy”.

This is the second restraining order aimed at Center for Medical Progress (CMP), an anti-abortion group, this week.

“We have seen this kind of tactic be attempted by other extremist organizations that have an ideological agenda”, said Earnest.

In one of the videos the group previously released, a woman identified as a former StemExpress phlebotomist describes drawing blood and dissecting dead fetuses.
