Many couples have mirrored their relationship on this fine example – but lovers are set to be disillusioned as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have officially split up.
“After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have made the hard decision to terminate our romantic relationship”.
The two Muppets broke the news earlier in the day during the Television Critics Association press tour promoting their show The Muppets which airs this fall on ABC. Seeing how she said she would talk “for the right offer”, we’re going to go with yes. “Thanks on your understanding”. An official statement followed on their official Twitter accounts.
Kermit and Piggy’s relationship has gone on for the past four decades, but it’s had more rough patches than the love between Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran. Asked if there was any hope of a reconciliation with Miss Piggy, Kermit said, “I don’t know”.
Rumors are already floating around the web that Kermit has moved on with another pig, by the name of Denise, who works in the marketing department at ABC.
“I do have an attraction to pigs”, the Muppet admitted to reporters under intense questioning. “It can be tough to be the executive producer on your ex’s late-night TV show, especially when your ex is a pig”.
“I’m glad we’re broken up”, says Miss Piggy. “Guess who that is”.

Miss Piggy: “I have no problem working with my ex, OK?” Kermit has at times been both praised and questioned for staying with Piggy despite her well-documented diva behavior and rumored hook-ups with other Hollywood A-listers.
