The United States Army has warned military recruiters to treat the growing presence of armed citizens congregating around military recruiting centers across the country as a security threat. The gunman who opened fire at two military facilities in Chattanooga was identified as 24-year-old Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez.

Maj. General Gregory Vadnais, commander of Michigan’s National Guard, said Tuesday that active-shooter training is increasing, and he intends to strengthen recruiting centers, according to the Associated Press.
The governor said Guard members who do not carry weapons should get them and obtain expedited concealed weapon permits, if necessary.
He hopes it’ll help prevent attacks like one last week in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The North Carolina National Guard recruiting office in Cary Towne Center now has armed military police officers to protect the office.
“What happened last Thursday is a direct result of our military here at home not being able to arm themselves”, said McIntire.
Asked today whether he plans to upgrade security at Minnesota National Guard recruiting facilities, Dayton told reporters that he’s sure those policies are being reviewed.
