Turn your smartphone into an fantastic 3D hologram
Those clever chaps at nerdist.com have figured out a way to make your smartphone project stunning 3D images – basically turning your iPhone into R2-D2.

All you need is a graph paper, a CD case, tape, super glue, pen, scissors, smartphone and a glass cutter.
From there, simply load up a YouTube video designed for hologram projectors and place your homemade creation on top of your phone.

Options are still fairly limited, but you’re building a holograms with your phone so let’s not get too greedy, OK? The result will blow your mind! Then cut the trapezoid. Prepare to be amazed!
While these optical holograms are technically illusions, scientists are in fact working on ways to create the types of holograms we see in science fiction.
