Mateen’s wife knew of plan, tried to talk him out of it
According to recent reports, Ms Salman was with Mateen when he bought ammunition and a holster shortly before the attack at Pulse nightclub.

Officials told NBC News that she is cooperating with investigators.
Mateen was killed by police Sunday after shooting to death 50 people and injuring another 53 at the LGBT nightclub Pulse in Orlando, Florida.
The father of Orlando shooter Omar Mateen has dismissed multiple claims that his son was gay. Mateen pledged allegiance to ISIS when he called 911 during the attack at Pulse, but according to authorities he was self-radicalized over the Internet and there are no signs of a connection to the organization.
The attack is considered the deadliest mass shooting in USA history.
Noor Zahi Salman with husband Omar Mateen and their son.
Salman, unlike Mateen’s first wife, Sitora Yusufiy, who came forward publicly to talk about his alleged abusive behavior and to respond to questions about his sexual orientation, has not spoken out publicly.
The official said investigators have not ruled out charging others, including the wife.
“I’ve seen him. I can’t tell you I know him”.
Noor hid beneath her grey hood as she went to the home she shared with Mateen.
It is unclear if Mateen was scoping out the park as a potential target, but law enforcement officials believe they were “surveillance” visits, CNN reported.
Mateen is “apparently associated” with five Facebook accounts, Johnson says, and was also using the social media platform to search for terrorism-related content prior to the attack. He said authorities are talking to hundreds of people and investigating everyone associated with Mateen, including family, friends and business associates. There’s nothing else I could say. They noted that straight people patronized the club as well as gay people, and wouldn’t speculate on Mateen’s sexuality.

“I think it’s important even if you’re straight, gay or whatever your sexual preference to show respect”, said one man at the gathering.
