Air National Guard pilots eject after midair collision in GA
According to the statement, two pilots from the 169th Fighter Wing were engaging in routine night training over Jefferson County when they collided at approximately 9:15 p.m. local time.

The South Carolina Air National Guard and the US Air Force are dispatching teams to investigate the collision.
Both pilots ejected safely and were returned to McEntire Joint National Guard Base to be debriefed as part of the crash investigation.
He called the night-flying operation “very regular” for the pilots, one for which they train “on a nightly basis”.
The pilots were taken to a nearby hospital following the collision, National Guard spokesman 1st Lt. Stephen Hudson said, as cited by AP. The second pilot was found after a two-hour search.
There have been no casualties and no significant damage on the ground has been reported.
UPDATED 5:32 a.m. June 8, 2016- The South Carolina National Guard will hold a press conference Wednesday morning in Eastover South Carolina.
“The good news is, they were able to eject safely and contact the base immediately to say they were both okay”, National Guard spokeswoman Col. Cindi King stated on Wednesday.
