After knocking on the door, they found biological mother Penny Worthy and Chad Eastlack with the 8-month-old. Workers at the hotel say Eastlack checked in around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

An AMBER Alert was issued on Thursday for the 8-month-old child.

Eastlack was booked at the Missoula County Detention Center at 9:19 a.m. Sunday.

A police officer spotted the vehicle in a hotel parking lot, he said.

John Eastlack, 35, is accused of stealing the minivan from Millikan Farm Road in Franklinville, and he faces several felonious charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle, larceny of a firearm and possession of stolen firearms.

NBC Montana will continue to bring you the latest information on this ongoing investigation as it becomes available.

Worthy is described as a black female who is 20 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs 120 pounds. The young boy was placed in custody with child protective services and arrangements are being made for his return to North Carolina. Her last known address is 4545 Peace Road in Trinity.

Both suspects were taken in for questioning, and Worthy was released.
