Cops fatally shoot man they say refused to drop gun

Three officers then fired their guns, striking him several time, according to police. The NYPD says police responded to a shooting at about 1:50 a.m. on Randall Avenue in the Clason Point section. One witness told the Daily News the man pointed the gun at officers twice.

A man was shot and killed in a police-involved shooting in the Bronx early Sunday morning, police said.

The man was identified by a law-enforcement official as Rashaun Lloyd, 25 years old.

“I’m real hurt”, Morehand said of the victim, a construction worker. “To have to explain to him his dad is gone is hard”.

The man, who was in his 20’s, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and was pronounced dead.

A 9mm gun was recovered at the scene, although it’s not clear if it was loaded.

The NYPD Shotspotter system dispatched cops to the Soundview neighborhood after detecting two gunshots near the housing complex, police said. Moorhead said he did not believe the suspect did what police alleged.
