Facebook Messenger’s hidden football game, the new ‘Flappy Bird’?
In order to play, users need to have the latest version of the Facebook Messenger app – the game is not available for desktop users. “Reinventing the inbox” is the statement behind the update, according to David Marcus, the Vice President of messaging products.

Facebook Messenger began as a separate platform for sending and receiving messages sent in the social media. “For many people, they come to Messenger to start a conversation”.
“A lot of Android texting apps didn’t keep up with the evolution of messaging, so we felt like we truly had to make Messenger the best SMS client for Android”, Marcus said.
The interface of the inbox will now have a Favorites section, where users can find the contacts they chat with the most, instead of just having them in the Active Now tab.
As you probably know, in April 2016 Facebook launched a set of apps for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile such as the Facebook and Facebook Messenger for Windows 10 and Instagram for Windows 10 Mobile. “With SMS in Messenger, people now have the choice to send and receive SMS messages in Messenger without having to switch between apps to stay on top of their conversations”, Vaccari wrote.
Tap the emoji and you get to play. Well, quite simply the fact that you can monitor your texts as well as your Facebook messages without switching apps is pretty handy for both multi-tasking and saving data. For example, you can’t use voice calling on Facebook Messenger for Windows 10, but you can use it on iOS based devices. The SMS chat feature also comes with support for stickers, emoji, GIFs, and other forms of rich content.
Messenger has been available as a mobile messaging app since 2011.

Facebook Messenger also received SMS integration that allows users to read and reply their SMS messages right from within the Messenger app. This is the same thing that Google does with its Hangouts app, where it can be integrated with the default SMS service and all messages – SMS and Hangouts – are displayed in one app.
