Von Miller Declines Denver’s Latest Offer For A Contract Extension

Miller and the Broncos agreed on years and total value of a new contract – six years for more than $114 million with $39.8 million guaranteed the first two years – but not on how the money is paid out, according to multiple reports.

However, the Broncos set a Tuesday-night deadline for an agreement and when the deadline passed rescinded their multiyear offer, leaving Miller to play 2016 on the $14.129 million franchise-tag amount.

Miller, who has been noticeably absent during offseason workouts, was with his team when they traveled to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on Monday to be honored for their Super Bowl 50 win.

Klis also reports issues with Ryan Clady and Demaryius Thomas created the impetus for Miller’s moved-up deadline (teams have until July 15 to sign franchise-tag players). Kubiak said that Talib would likely be evaluated by team medical personnel, including head trainer Steve Antonopulos, when the cornerback makes his expected return to Denver on Wednesday.

“Until I’ve gathered all the information and know wholly and confident that I know exactly everything that took place and what’s going on and what’s happening, I don’t want to go there right now”, Kubiak said.

The Broncos claimed the NFL’s top prize earlier this year with a victory over the Carolina Panthers, which also proved to be legendary quarter-back Peyton Manning’s final game.

Miller predicted peaceful negotiations while his agent sought a contract topping Ndamukong Suh’s six-year, $114.375 million deal with the Dolphins in 2015 that includes $50 million in guarantees over the first two years.

And what better time than on Monday during the Broncos’ Super Bowl celebratory visit?

Linebacker Danny Trevathan, safety Omar Bolden and long-snapper Aaron Brewer-all of whom left the Broncos to sign with the Bears during the offseason-were on hand. “He said, ‘Congratulations. I can’t wait to see you play'”.

“I’m going to be selfish and try to bring him over on the coaching side and have him help”, Fisher said. “He held me back for a little second”. For him to say that, he really believes in this organization. “We need to get him here and see exactly where’s he at”. They don’t appear to want to do the same thing with Miller, but one has to wonder just how high John Elway is willing to go, and how low Miller himself would be willing to come for the sake of staying in Denver.
