US Cellular becomes 3rd network for Google’s Project Fi
By accessing multiple cellular networks, Fi users have a connection almost 99% of the time, and spend about 95% of cellular time on LTE – which will improve even further with the addition of U.S. Cellular. However, the MVNO or mobile virtual network operator will now employ cellular and Wi-Fi service from the regional carrier U.S. Cellular to expand its coverage. When it was first announced to the public, Google had partnered up with Sprint and T-Mobile to provide its services to its clients.

Google’s Project Fi is set to get a pretty significant network boost.
Jacobs adds that with the addition of U.S. Cellular in the list of network partners, Google’s service now provides customers “more coverage and speed” to help them stay connected wherever they are.
The Verge reported that the US Cellular customers would now be able to switch between multiple networks under the Project Fi and enjoy seamless connectivity. Since then, it has managed to rope in “US Cellular” in what appears to be a global takeover of the mobile carrier industry, disrupting the $340 billion market in the process. The most brilliant aspect, however, is that it aggregates multiple carriers – Sprint and T-Mobile – so that it can switch to the one with better coverage when needed.
In addition to that, Google sells data individually at a rate of $10 for 1GB.
The main objective of project Fi is to put users in the available strongest network by analyzing their location.
Google claims that because of its unique method of connecting to different networks, customers have a connection 99% of the time, and 95% of that time is with 4G LTE speed.
Project Fi, which offers consumers unlimited talk and text plans by default at $20 and charges consumers according to the data they consume pro-rated at fixed $10 per gigabyte of storage used, has fast become the talk of the town when it comes to tech savvy consumers. “We’re always adapting to consider how factors like new cell towers and newly-available radio frequencies are impacting real-world speeds”. Right now, Project Fi is only available on Google’s phones, specifically Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6.

Project Fi offers the best connection through Wi Fi or through its cellular networks. Subscribers are not required to sign an annual contract to get the service. Under Fi, improved user-friendly payment plans are provided by Google.
