Garza solid again despite Brewers loss to Dodgers

Justin Turner homered for the second night in a row and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 10-6 on Saturday night before 44,112 at Dodger Stadium.Turner, who hit two home runs and drove in the game-winning run with a walk-off single in Friday’s 3-2 victory over the Brewers in 10 innings, has smacked four homers in his last five games.Howie Kendrick and Joc Pederson also went deep for the Dodgers.

“The pitch before he threw a pretty good (changeup) and I just got a piece of it”, Turner said.

The Brewers, who lost for the fifth time in six games, got two hits apiece from Jonathan Villar, Aaron Hill and Ramon Flores.

On Saturday, Turner smashed a three-run homer that tied the score in the third inning.

One night after hitting two solo homers and a game-ending single in the 10th inning, Turner ignited the Dodgers’ comeback by sending a 1-1 changeup from starter Chase Anderson (4-7) high over the left-field wall for his ninth homer of the season.

Anderson (4-7) was responsible for almost all of those runs as the right-hander allowed seven runs on six hits with three strikeouts in just 2 and 1/3 innings.

Dodgers: LHP Julio Urias (0-2, 5.82) aims for his first career win after showing improvement his last two starts. Eleven of the 18 hitters Bolsinger faced reached safely.

“I’m just trying to stay patient as best as I can”, Jansen said prior to the game. He’s allowed one run in 10 innings this year.

“It’s tough. I’m not going to sit up here and make excuses anymore”.

“I assumed (Jeffress) was going to try and attack me with fastball and then try to get a ground ball with that sinker”, Turner added. “It’s little things. I’m sure I’ll figure it out”. I just enjoy it.

The Brewers will remain out west for two games against the Oakland A’s Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon before coming home to host the Nationals. I think the impatience is more of when you get home and you go to bed.

Garza had been on the disabled list since April with a right lat strain. Blazek compiled a 3-1 record with a 4.13 ERA in 25 appearances before being shut down. RHP Brandon McCarthy (Tommy John surgery) pitched Thursday for Rancho Cucamonga and LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder surgery) will start Friday. 2B Chase Utley was given a routine night off Saturday, with Roberts expecting him back at the top of the Dodgers’ lineup on Sunday.

Garza will be making his second start after missing the first 10 weeks of the season with a strained right lat muscle suffered in his final outing of the spring.

The Brewers brutal bayside trip began with a sweep by the San Francisco Giants, and after taking the series opener, the Dodgers won three out of four.

Aaron Hill and Chris Carter homered off Casey Fien in the fifth to make it 6-3 Milwaukee and, after the Dodgers had crawled back to tie it, Villar launched the first pitch he saw from Pedro Baez (0-2) in the ninth an estimated 420 feet to straightaway center field for the victor.
