EFCC Freezes Governor Fayose’s Account
Fayose had earlier raised an alarm that the Federal Government had concluded the alleged plans to use the anti-graft agency to destabilise Ekiti with the aim of impeaching him, the Cable News reports.

“I got wind of the fact that the EFCC had placed restriction order on my personal account and that of my associates”.
Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution only confers immunity on governors and some public officers against prosecution, the official added. “They can investigate me, but they can’t coerce me”, he said.
“They did not communicate to me”. They want to destabilise this state, they want to take the state at all costs and it is not going to be possible.
Although there were allegations that the frozen cash was about N1.3billion, the EFCC said it might released the figure today as part of its findings.
The Commission said that so far, it has concluded investigations into such account which the Governor allegedly used on #Ekitigate. “Nothing says he can not be investigated”, he told TheCable. I am a person who is not perturbed by things like this.
“This indeed came as a shock considering the personality involved, a sitting governor that enjoys immunity till the determination of his office as governor of a State in Nigeria”.
Uwujaren said there had been suspicious transactions on the account, therefore, “the onus is to create a post no debit on that account”.
According to the presidential media aide, free speech does not entitle Governor Fayose to falsely accuse innocent people of crimes they knew nothing about.
Lamorde was contacted for clarification following the claim by Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, that the Aisha Buhari mentioned in court documents to have transferred $170 000 to the convicted American politician is President Buhari’s wife. But he did not give their names and details.

The governor accused some leaders of the APC and a prominent lawyer from the state of being behind the action.
