Millions take part in Yoga Day in India

In Geneva, the Permanent Mission of India in collaboration with the United Nations Office at Geneva organised a special event in the historic Palais des Nations building (United Nations’ Building) on June 19, 2016 as part of celebrations to mark the observance of the 2nd International Day of Yoga. The whole world supported it whether it was developed or developing nations.

Binoy Bhushan Bhattacharjee, organiser of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, said, “There are around 146 branches of our organisation throughout the state where we organised such camps today”. “Glorious day kicks off #IDY2016 celebrations across the world!” “I think, this speaks about the power of this heritage, identity of this heritage which was given by our ancestors”.

School students, teachers, government employees, political leaders, police and paramilitary officials as well as volunteers from NGOs, all sporting white T-shirts and blue and white pants, performed the yoga postures on red and blue mats rolled out on the lawns.
