Japan military on alert for possible North Korean ballistic missile launch
South Korea’s Intelligence agency has said that the Islamic State (ISIS) militant group has gathered information on 77 US and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation air force bases and has asked its followers to attack them.

The intelligence agency said that in the case of Korea, that information included detailed geographical coordinates and satellite images from Google Maps of U.S. Air Force bases in Osan in Gyeonggi and Gunsan in North Jeolla.
A South Korean defense ministry official said it could not confirm the Yonhap report and said the military was watching the North’s missile activities closely.
“The government will make all-out efforts to protect the lives and properties of our citizens from terrorist threats while keeping close tabs on the movements of global terrorist groups”, an NIS official said, declining to be named.
The NIS said it appears ISIS obtained the personal data from hacking the welfare organization’s website.
At a recent camp session on South Korea’s Jeju Island, 120 ninth-graders rolled their suitcases into a sprawling beach-side resort lined with palm trees, snapping selfies on the resort lawn.
In a video message released in November past year, IS presented the flags of 60 nations, including South Korea, casting them as members of an alliance against the militant group.

In an effort to shield the nation against terrorist attacks, South Korean authorities have deported some 50 foreigners with links to terrorist organizations over the last five years. Two South Koreans “disgruntled with society” have also been busted for trying to join ISIS, the NIS added. South Korea’s twist on extracurricular enrichment is called Unification Leaders Camp, and it’s a government-sponsored getaway dedicated to schooling South Korean young people about their neighbors to the north. It said it plans to cooperate with the U.S. Forces, including a review of sharing of information, and also increase regional patrol.
