The Warriors Are Reportedly Kevin Durant’s Top Choice If He Leaves OKC

In August 2014, the Toronto Raptors were fined $25,000 for tampering when Drake, the team’s global ambassador, said he wanted Durant to join the team at a concert.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News dropped an article on Tuesday with sourced information regarding Kevin Durant’s free agency. If Golden State had won its second-straight title, its stock would have gone down in Durant’s eyes.

The Warriors were up in the NBA Finals, 3-1 but a combination of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Draymond Green’s suspension, fatigue, Stephen Curry’s cold shooting and carelessness, and many other reasons contributed to Golden State’s downfall. The Warriors failed to beat Cleveland when the Cavaliers were at full strength.

Still, that’s not the only intriguing option for Durant to consider.

General manager Bob Myers also has the capability of being able to trade away a couple large contracts in order to make a Durant marriage work financially.

Though the New York Knicks may have a long shot at the National Basketball Association title, Phil Jackson will be busy in pursuing Durant.

But OKC management breathed a sigh of relief when Fisher was suddenly ousted as Knicks coach.

The Miami Heat can never be ruled out as an option because Pat Riley has turned his franchise into the premiere free agent destination in the league; warm weather, no state taxes, global city, winning tradition, great owner and Riley.

Durant’s goal is to win an National Basketball Association championship and his best chance to accomplish it is to join the Warriors.

Earlier this year, league sources spoken to by The Vertical also indicated that the Warriors were the favorites to sign Durant, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising if such a signing was made this summer.
