Greg Bryant academically ineligible for ’15 season
The father of Greg Bryant confirmed to IrishIllustrated.com that his son has been declared academically ineligible and will not play for the Irish in 2015.

In late June, reports surfaced that Bryant was going to miss the first four games of the season thanks to a suspension for a violation of team rules.
It’s another bump in the road for Bryant, a former five-star recruit who has yet to fulfill that promise in two-plus seasons in South Bend.
In addition, Kelly announced that linebacker Michael Deeb and tight end Mike Heuerman, a pair of redshirt sophomores, are medically disqualified and will remain on scholarship.
Coach Brian Kelly announced Tuesday that Bryant would remain on scholarship and would be allowed to practice with the team, but that he would not occupy a roster spot. “Quite simply, Greg did not meet those expectations”, Kelly said in a statement. But he will not be on the Irish roster.
The ineligibility leaves Bryant’s place in the program on unstable footing.

The Irish appeared to have been preparing for Bryant’s absence earlier this spring by having wide receiver C.J. Prosise cross train at running back. He was Notre Dame’s second-leading rusher behind Folston, leaving the Irish without three of their top four ground threats from last year with the transfer of quarterback Everett Golson to Florida State and the graduation of running back Cam McDaniel.
