Destiny Rise of Iron Skipping Previous Gen for “New Features”, “Graphical Improvements”
As cited on the official Bungie update website, Activision said that it will be rolling out its fourth and reportedly last downloadable content (DLC) for “Destiny” titled “Rise of Iron” this September 20.

Barett explained around 90 percent of its player base is on the current-gen consoles (Playstation 4 and Xbox One), and because of this, they have decided not to include last-gen consoles (now being referred to as Legacy consoles) on the new content.
Creative lead Christopher Barrett spoke to Kotaku and echoed numerous same sentiments but also revealed that the team would be taking advantage of current gen consoles in other ways. We’ve gotten to the point where to continue to add new stuff, we would start to have to take things away.
And that’s something that Destiny: Rise of Iron wants to follow up on.
But this drop reveals something bigger about Activision and Bungie’s plan for the game: it’s dropping support for PS3 and Xbox 360 players.
“We also wanted to make a brand-new place for players to explore, they’ve been super-hungry for content, so we want to give them everything – new weapons, new zone to explore and new characters”. Once this is completed, Felwinter’s Peak becomes the new social hub for players to trade, level-up, and meet other players.
There has, however, not been any update on how much the new DLC will cost. While this isn’t confirmation, it does show that Bungie is still keeping the option open. However, the game director is confident that this is the best decision for the fans of “Destiny”. Though players are still holding out hope.
During Gamespot’s live stream interview, Dague said that unlike “The Taken King”, “Rise of Iron” will not have separate editions. Watch this space for all your Destiny updates and gaming news in general.

According to the official Bungie site, the game will officially come out on September 20, 2016 and will feature a powerful enemy, the SIVA, a Golden Age breakthrough in self-assembling, self-replicating nanotechnology which makes the Fallen Devil Splicers an even bigger force to contend with.
