Back when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was first announced, fans couldn’t help but wonder if a certain Sith would make an appearance.

Entertainment Weekly magazine has revealed that the “Star Wars” spin-off “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is on its cover this week and has teased tons of information about the hotly anticipated film.

Rumored to play Darth Vader, according to Flickering Myth, is Spencer Wilding (Guardians of the Galaxy). Plus, if we’re being told Jyn Erso is not Force-sensitive, then this seems to prove that the intention of this film is to truly establish a set of characters who have a different lineage than the other Star Wars characters we’ve seen to date.

The second maybe bigger inference from all this is about Felicity Jones’s new character; Jyn Erso.

EW also reveals that Mads Mikkelsen’s unnamed character is “a scientist whose knowledge is sought by both sides”. Full details of the squad of characters uniting to take on the Empire, played by the most multicultural cast to appear in a Star Wars film yet: Diego Luna, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, and Alan Tudyk – as a performance-capture droid. The exact details of Vader’s return are, of course, a bit of a mystery, however the iconic villain has featured heavily in the actually-really-good-despite-it-being-for-children Rebels TV series.

We’ll be covering all the big reveals from this story over the coming days, so stay tuned for more great Star Wars-y goodness.

Previous reports have suggested that Rogue One’s team has created an exact replica of Vader’s costume as seen in A New Hope.
