Unhappy Ronaldo riled by reporter on his morning stroll

Portugal football team skipper Cristiano Ronaldo reacted angrily after being approached by a television reporter while out walking near Portugal’s hotel in Lyon-grabbing the microphone and throwing it into a lake.

After a goalless stalemate against Slovakia on Monday, England were overtaken by Wales and will next face whoever finishes second in Group F out of Hungary, Iceland, Portugal or Austria in a Round of 16 tie in Nice next Monday. However, if they beat Hungary they will win Group F so their misfortune against Iceland and Hungary will be quickly forgotten.

Ronaldo is still waiting for his opening goal in France to become the first person to score at four consecutive European championship finals.

The Portuguese has had the most shots at the tournament so far (20), three more than his nearest rival Gareth Bale, who has played one game more.

We really hope he gets back to his goal-scoring ways soon so we can be treated to more of this… The last match of Portugal was against the Austria which was ended in a draw but they performed brilliantly in that match and thus, they can take a lot of positives from that game.

Portugal are now just 4/9 (1.44) to secure their first win of the tournament when they face Hungary and while that quote might not inspire many punters, the option to back the odds on favourites at 5/1 (6.0) will surely catch the eye.

Likely Scenario: Hungary and Portugal are likely to play out a draw, and Austria and Iceland are also expected to do the same.

Austria were touted as dark horses before the finals but must win to have any change of going through. They will have to keep their goal difference at less than -2 to secure a path into the knockouts.

“The day after the first game you said Cristiano was all smiles”, Portugal head coach Fernando Santos said on Ronaldo’s mentality.

“I don’t think it’s something to be anxious about, but I think it’s perhaps good for us to go over how we can use the ball better”.
