BC fires: Harrison Lake wildfire increases six-fold in one day
As of Monday evening, resources included 70 firefighters, six helicopters, two heavy equipment machines as well as fixed wing air tankers and the Martin Mars water bomber, which was brought out of retirement in July to help the rampant wildfire situation in B.C. this summer.

MacPherson says the growth has been northward, away from any homes.
The Wood Lake wildfire burning near Harrison Lake is still very active and heavy wind has pushed the fire to more than 100 hectares in size.
It came after wind on Sunday (August 2) caused the flames to spread. “Right now our team don’t need any longer human-caused fires”.
“There’s an terrible lot of wind in the area, it’s gusting quite heavily so that’s pushing the fire forward quite a bit”.
Campers were evacuated from 10-Mile Bay and Wood Lake on Sunday.
The sites weren’t immediately threatened by the fire and there was no official evacuation order issued, Mr. Skrepnek said, but the area was cleared to make it easier for fire crews to do their work.
The injuries ranged from smoke inhalation to suspected broken bones; 12 of the injured were firefighters and 19 people were taken to hospitals, the fire service said.

RCMP officers have blocked the West Harrison Lake Forest Service Road until further notice. “While this fire may not be impacting them directly, it could impact their ability to get out”.
