Deadline just issued a report that five of the main GoT stars negotiated for more pay in Season 7 and Season 8.
HBO has no comment but the rumor is the new contracts don’t guarantee that all the characters will survive through the end of the series. “I hear the contracts of the other regulars who landed raises alongside the Big 5 in fall 2014, have not been redone yet”.
Interestingly, the supposed safeguarded actors do not include popular GoT stars such as Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), so whether they’ll live to see season 8 remains to be seen. And the stars of the hit HBO drama reportedly are getting substantial bumps in pay to return.
The last salary negotiations for the quintet took place in October 2014 and landed them each $300,000 per episode.

The penultimate season six episode, “Battle of the Bastards”, was directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who also directed season five’s “Hardhome”, which featured another epic battle, although a lot of it was done with computer generated effects (CGI) due to the mass amounts of white walkers.
