Loew is confident the world champions will return to scoring ways in their final Group C match against Northern Ireland on Wednesday morning (Singapore time) and top their group with a win.

He was filmed crowd surfing outside a Lyon cafe.

“They will be with many players around the box so it does not matter what skills you have with the ball”.

“There were nine or 10 Polish players behind the ball because we didn’t play the ball quickly enough”.

“To get to what we call the Graceland and to win in the style was fantastic”.

Corry Evans has warned that Northern Ireland won’t fear Germany’s all-stars in Paris on Tuesday after keeping Andriy Yarmolenko and Yevhen Konoplyanka quiet when they beat Ukraine last week.

“We’ve got Germany on Tuesday and we can get a result”, said Washington, who joined the Exiles from St Ives Town and moved on to first Peterborough United and then Queens Park Rangers. However, if such a scheme worked in the game against Germany because Ukraine played on the counterattacks, using the same tactics against the British team was not the smartest decision. They sweated blood against Ukraine and deserve another chance. Michael McGovern returned to action after his day off yesterday. What O’Neill’s side have proved is that they can still win games without dictating play so do not be surprised to see plenty of Toni Kroos spinning the Germans’ passing carousel.

The Northern Ireland gaffer made five changes to the side which lost to Poland in their opening game and McGinn conceded that he can’t remember a more complete performance from Northern Ireland.

“I think like usual it is always hard to play against him (Lewandowski)”, said Boateng.

“Why are we playing better in defence than before?”

Low utilised three different men at the fulcrum of his attack against Poland last Thursday, and none of them managed to inspire a goal.

“We did so much work leading into the first game, the work we did was of a really high quality, the players took it on board”, he added. The fact that we failed to progress to the round of 16 is definitely a bad result for us, as we wanted more.

A draw would also nearly certainly send Northern Ireland through, and even a defeat might not stop them.

“We’re looking forward to Germany”.

“It was flawless that both goals came in front of the fans, it re-paid the faith that the fans have shown us in the tournament so far”.

“We didn’t win any one-on-ones up front and the movement [in front of goal] was missing”, the Bayern Munich defender told ZDF after the match.
