Logano started his MI weekend by sitting on the pole in his Ford Fusion and dominated the race by leading 138 of the 200 lap event.

Joey Logano posted a lap of 199.557 miles per hour Friday to win the pole for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.

Joey Logano, who piloted his Ford to victory, described the cars as “out of control”.

Martin Truex Jr. will begin second, his ninth start among the top 10 this season. The exceptional speeds got everyone loose and this led to issues with handling.

The day’s earlier matches both ended in 1-0 victories, with a wonder strike from Luka Modric seeing Croatia past Turkey in a bruising encounter and Arkadiusz Milik scoring for Poland against Northern Ireland. “Man, when you get just a little bit behind in this series, holy moly, it takes so much work to just regain what you lost – not really even to have an advantage, just to get back to where you were”.

The race featured 14 lead changes (fewest since June of ’09 here) among eight drivers. Busch didn’t give up the lead and earned his first win of the season.

Elliott’s waterloo actually came at Lap 154, when, as the leader, he missed a shift and allowed Logano to regain the lead.

Logano and Elliott, running first and second, stayed out.

Logano finished ahead of two young drivers who are still looking for their first career victories – rookie Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson. It seems like the weekend of cautions; that’s what got us in our starting spot, anyway.

“Well, we had a shot”, Elliott said after Sunday’s race at MI.

“The restarts are stupid”, Stewart said.

The IndyCar race at soggy Texas has been postponed for the second day in a row, and this time the series will wait more than two months before trying again.

Believe it or not, Kyle Busch is indeed human.

“The last four races have been really, really bad”, he acknowledged.

Jamie McMurray scored the third top-10 of 2016 when he crossed under the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway checkers in ninth. Skippered by Australian Nathan Outteridge, Artemis had finishes of second, first and fourth. “It may not be flawless yet but it is more than definitely going in the right direction”.

Notable drivers caught up in on-track incidents that brought out cautions included Dale Earnhardt Jr., Danica Patrick, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin. He bumped against Chris Buescher soon after a restart.

He would end up taking A.J. Allmendinger with him.

“No doubt, they are out of control insane, and it makes it a lot of fun”, said race-winner Joey Logano. We got that All-Star win, but it’s nice to get that win and lock ourselves into the Chase. Ever since becoming the head football coach at Michigan, Harbaugh has gone all around the world and has gotten to do some of the coolest things. NASCAR is finally catching up.

He even busted out the khakis for this very special occasion!

Elliott is wise beyond his years, and that’s why he’ll win this year and probably win 60 more races than Dillon will when we reach 2036.
