Disney Adds Alligator Warning Signs, Barriers After Florida Attack
Searchers had found the body of a 2-year-old boy who was snatched underwater by an alligator near a Disney World resort in the U.S. city of Orlando, said local police sheriff on Wednesday.

Lane Graves’ body was recovered intact by a dive team Wednesday near the location where the attack occurred. The father “struggles with the alligator (and the) alligator pulls the child into the water and they disappeared”.
Agentes de la policía del condado de Orange buscan el cuerpo de un niño en el lago Seven Seas entre el parque temático Magic Kingdom de Walt Disney World y el Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, el miércoles 15 de junio de 2. “To all of the local authorities and staff who worked tirelessly these past 24 hours, we express our deepest gratitude”, said the Graves. A sign near the lagoon warned guests not to play or swim in the water, but made no mention of alligators.
“We are conducting a swift and thorough review of all of our processes and protocols”, Disney World Resort Vice President Jacquee Wahler said in a statement shared by CNN.
So it hit him hard when an alligator snatched Lane this week at Disney.
“The cause of death was ruled as a result of drowning and traumatic injuries”, the medical examiner’s office said in a brief statement.
Around mid-morning Wednesday, Disney closed all beaches in the Florida resorts “out of an abundance of caution” following the alligator attack, according to a representative.
“All of our beaches are now closed, and we are conducting a swift and thorough review of all of our processes and protocols”, Wahler said.
Disney World also announced on Thursday that it would add alligator warning signs near all of its beaches. Last year, they removed more than 7,500 alligators deemed to be a nuisance.

Kadie Whalen said she complained to the front desk and wrote a letter to Disney but never heard back. Area officials have praised Disney’s wildlife management system, but the company says it’s reviewing policies that do not include alligator warning signs around lakes and ponds.
