Samsung Notebook 7 Spin packs rapid charging, 3-in-1 display

Samsung has introduced the Notebook 7 Spin, a new series of 13- and 15-inch hybrid laptops that it claims to be the ultimate entertainment system. There’s also tent mode, which is when you fold the screen back but not all the way. The new PC offers a Full HD display with Video HDR mode, expandable storage options, Windows 10 and fast charging capabilities. Spin tells us that Notebook 7 is a laptop as well as can be used as a Tablet too so the head is totally rotatable and removable.

The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is set to go on sale at the end of the week, sporting a sleek design, fast charging and three configurations, with the possibility to customize it for some extra oomph. Each variant has a Video HDR mode built in, which will provide sharper and enhanced colors and textures.

Across all three devices, there’s an HDMI port as well as a USB-C port and two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports. This Windows 10 device comes in 13.3- or 15.6-inch flavors, and it’s a flexible-hinge-type convertible with a 1080p touchscreen, a 1TB hard drive, and optional discrete graphics. To top it off, the 15.6-inch version is rocking a full numpad, plus a LAN port and full-sized SD card reader. Aimed specifically at business users, with a thickness of just 6.3 millimeters and a weight of 693 grams (1.5 pounds), it’s also far lighter and thinner than the Notebook 7 Spin. “Available in two sizes, a 15.6″ notebook and a 13” notebook, the Notebook 7 spin will be available beginning June 26, 2016, at Best Buy and BestBuy.com, as well as Samsung.com starting at $799.99.

As for graphics cards, the 13-inch comes with the Intel HD Graphics 520 and the 15-inch with the NVIDIA GeForce 940MX.

Under the hood, there are two Intel processor variants, the Core i5, and Core i7 and as you would expect this depends on the model you buy.

The difference between the two larger models lies in the memory and storage – one features 1TB of storage and 12GB of DDR4 memory, while the other offers 16GB of DDR4 and 1TB of storage paired with a secondary 128GB SSD. As for RAM, we didn’t get the exact information in time for publication, but Samsung says it will be upgradeable-a key feature you want in any laptop.
