One of the women was four months pregnant and lost her child, according to NYPD Chief of Detective Bob Boyce. The victims – three women and two men, ranging in age from 19 to 22 – were shot just after 10:50 p.m. Monday.
A 19-year-old woman who was shot in the neck and one leg and a 24-year-old man who was also hit in the neck have sustained the most critical injuries.
The reason behind the shootings was not known to the police and none of the gunmen were arrested.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams reportedly said at a news conference today that “this was about a retaliatory shooting on the wrong block”.
Police and fire officials say five people have been injured and taken to local hospitals after a shooting in Brooklyn.
The shooting began after an argument between the suspects and people outside the house.

“There were multiple gunshots, very loud, by the time we came to the window there were eight ambulances here and police were everywhere”, another witness said.
