The King can can decline his one-year option and become a free agent, but don’t expect him to leave the Cavaliers a second time.

“I talked to several people yesterday at the hotels telling me that it’s all Clevelanders, Ohioans and just Cavs fans from around the country who are flying home just to be here for this parade, because they kind of want to be part of this shared experience”, Urycki says. “I love all of y’all”, James said.

“When I chose to leave Miami – I’m not going to name any names, I can’t do that – but there were some people that I trusted and built relationships with in those four years [who] told me I was making the biggest mistake of my career”. At any rate, there’s still Kevin Durant to obsess over.

But, after two seasons, he finally made good on his promise over the weekend, when his Cleveland Cavaliers brought home the city’s first championship in over 50 years.

After bringing Cleveland its first-ever National Basketball Association championship win, LeBron James says he has no plans to take his talents elsewhere anytime soon.

Here’s the Tweet and the video, which features James saying some pretty cool things about former KU center Sasha Kaun, who was a reserve with the Cavs this season and did not play in the Finals.

Free agents can begin negotiating with teams July 1 and can sign July 7. The Cavaliers were honored with a parade after taking a seven-game series with Golden State.

James told the victory rally on Wednesday (Thursday NZ time) that it still hadn’t sunk in.

And the sight of James, who scorned the city by leaving in 2010, holding the Larry O’Brien trophy as he rides through town is certain to produce cheers and some tears from fans waiting a lifetime to see one of Cleveland’s three teams finish first.

Akron considered other venues, such as InfoCision Stadium and Canal Park, when deciding where to hold the LeBron James celebration, but opted for Lock 3 Park.
