Liam Hemsworth defends proposing to Miley Cyrus in 2012

Liam Hemsworth defended his decision to pop the question to then-girlfriend Miley Cyrus back in 2012 during a recent interview.

“I make my decisions about what’s going to make me happy, what I think is right and what I want to do – and I don’t worry too much outside of that”, he said. “That was a well thought-out idea”, he told the interviewer firmly.

When Miley Cyrus learned that she wouldn’t be attending her beau Liam Hemsworth’s movie premiere for Independence Day: Resurgence, it probably stung – but the actor has a very valid reason as to why she wasn’t on the red carpet.

The pair moved in together, and when Hemsworth injured his back in early 2016 (“I do like doing things that give me an adrenaline rush”, he told News.com.au), Cyrus was on-hand to nurse him back to health.

The 26-year-old star is also throwing rocks at nosy reporters trying to dig up dirt on his rekindled romance with Miley. However, neither one of them has officially confirmed their relationship status, but they have been spotted together multiple times.

“Of course it was hard, man”, he revealed to GQ. “We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time – we both needed that”. But when asked by Australian News Corp if he thought his first proposal was an “impetuous” act, Hemsworth insisted it was quite the opposite. On June 19, she posted a picture of herself wearing a shirt with the word “Hemsworth” printed on the back.
