Samsung Builds Payments Into Smart TVs
In conjunction with the launch of Samsung Pay on TV, the electronics manufacturer said that seven game titles can be accessed through this new payment method, including: Gamefly Streaming, Buddy & Me, Deer Hunter, Eternal Warrior 3, Frontline Commando: DDAY, Golf Star, and Casino World Championship.

Samsung Pay on TV lets users make payments on some of the company’s smart TVs. The company originally announced Samsung Pay in March to take on Google Wallet and Apple Pay services. The service will initially be offered in 32 countries on select TVs that went on sale either this year or in 2104, Samsung said without offering any further details.
While Samsung Pay on mobile will use magnetic secure transmission tech, and also support NFC, in order to be compatible with retailers’ point of sales terminals, Samsung Pay on TV is necessarily a different animal.
While the fortunes of Samsung’s mobile phones – particularly its high-end Galaxy line – have been somewhat uneven in recent memory, the company’s dominance in the smart TV market remains largely uncontested.
The Smart TV payment platform will also reportedly allow Samsung device holders to easily transfer Samsung account information and registered payment methods (credit card, debit card, PayPal) without having to register at all.
Users simply need to follow three steps after an initial registration setup to start making payments through Samsung Pay on smart TVs.
It adds that it’s created a secure virtual keyboard as an input mechanism for when users are entering credit/debit card information or their PayPal password on the TV.

You can either set it up with an acknowledge/charge card or for a PayPal record – once that is done, the TV will just approach you for a four-digit PIN number each time you make a buy. They’ll be able to make in-app purchases in games, for example.
