Orlando shooting: Mateen’s wife may face charges
Initial reports about Orlando, Florida, terror attacker Omar Mateen documented his brief marriage in 2008 and 2009 to a woman named Sitora Yusufiy, who now lives in Colorado and says she left Mateen because he was physically and emotionally abusive.

Orlando shooter Omar Mateen, who killed 49 people inside a gay nightclub early Sunday morning, was gay, both his ex-wife and a former classmate have reportedly claimed.
An FBI official said authorities believe Mateen’s wife, Noor Salman, knew about the plot ahead of time, but they are reluctant to charge her on that basis alone.
She is reported to have told police she tried to talk her husband out of attacking the Pulse nightclub.
“She definitely is, I guess you would say, a person of interest right now and appears to be cooperating and can provide us with some important information”, the US Senator said.
Omar Mateen’s second wife, Noor Salman, told investigators that she was with her husband when he purchased ammunition days ahead of the massacre, the network reported.
Many are now starting to ask questions about his wife, Noor Mateen, who has admitted to authorities that she knew that her husband was going to carry out an attack.
A regular at Pulse told the Los Angeles Times that he interacted with Mateen over the course of a year on the gay dating app Jack’d.
However, if she expressed a desire for him not to go through with the crime, as she claims she did, it’s “really unlikely” this would happen.
Mateen called 911 dispatchers during the attack and pledged loyalty to the Islamic State group.
“Sometimes he would go over in the corner and sit and drink by himself, and other times he would get so drunk he was loud and belligerent”, Smith said.
For what it’s worth, reports are coming out that Mateen was investigated by the FBI at least once in the past for alleged ties to alleged terrorist activities, but those investigations were apparently closed.

The official says the Federal Bureau of Investigation has Mateen’s phone and will try to use data from it to see if he had visited the club before.
