Tickets to the July 12 matinee are pricey, but the high cost of “Hamilton” is a fact of life for the in-demand production, to which secondary ticketers and brokers are selling seats at $1,000 or more.

In a new article in The Hollywood Reporter, Disney executive vice president Tom MacDougall discussed the series of events which led to the casting of HAMILTON star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in Disney’s MARY POPPINS RETURN.
The star, who announced June 16 that he will leave his show July 9, has written music and lyrics for Moana, and he’ll star opposite Emily Blunt in director Rob Marshall’s live-action Mary Poppins Returns, which begins shooting this winter and hits theaters December 25, 2018. After that, Javier Munoz will take over the role of Hamilton.
For people who are interested in attending the “Wrap Party”, following the matinée performance of Hamilton, the Deadline website mentions that ticket buyers can either purchase the “event chair” seating for $100,000 or can purchase “a host ticket of $33,400”. Those tickets also include “a photo reception with the candidate”.
In addition to winning the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Hamilton won 11 Tony Awards this year, including the evening’s biggest prize, Best Musical. You heard me right: Hillary Clinton is teaming up with the most popular show on Broadway. “It’s a attractive piece of art with empathy to spare”.
This isn’t the first time the 11-time Tony victor has dabbled in politics – it teamed up with the Democratic Hope Fund in November for a benefit that President Obama and Michelle Obama attended.
Some have joked on Twitter that Clinton’s raffle for the tickets may be easier than the Broadway show’s own raffle. Though it’s a safe bet that Clinton’s fundraiser won’t be participating.

Clinton’s campaign will cover hotel and travel for the supporter who wins the lucky ticket.
