“Although the cancer, itself, was under control, the infection was a outcome of past treatment that the Archbishop had received for prostate cancer”.

According to a statement released by the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, Tutu will continue his recovery at home.

Tutu, 83, won the 1984 Nobel Peace Prize for his opposition to white-minority rule in South Africa, which ended a decade later.
