Apple celebrates Pride weekend with rainbow Apple Watch bands for employees

On the eve of 2016 San Francisco Pride Parade, Apple gifted its employees a attractive, limited edition Apple Pride Watch to honor the event. The thank-you notes further reminded them of Apple’s success in achieving a “tremendous milestone” for its Diversity in Network Association, which reached its 30-year mark.

Apple employees have also flooded with Instagram with images of the event; we’ve embedded a few below.

Cook and Apple employees participated in the Pride march as a show of support for the LGBT community and the equality and diversity that the event advocates. This is the first time the smartphone maker is gifting limited edition Pride bands to employees. Apple has a long history of participating in San Francisco’s Gay Pride parade. In that same year, the company’s employees started to receive official backing from Apple, and this support continues today.

“Happy Pride to everyone who turned out this weekend to celebrate!” Last year, Apple gave away custom made shirts, banners, and flags to the parade participants. The company even created a video that showcased these efforts.

It appears that Apple doesn’t intend to release the band as a public product, although it is likely to sell well. The available third-party rainbow bands are not as elegant as the one given during the parade.
