Juventus new boy Dani Alves says he is relishing the challenge of his fresh start in Turin. “It would be an honour because he has the right spirit to be a part of Juve”.

The Brazilian has joined the Bianconeri following eight years at Barcelona and, despite being 33, still appears to have plenty of top-level football ahead of him. “I chose Juve because I love to dream, and I love to dream with great teams and great players”.

“It doesn’t depend on me but on both clubs and Mascherano”.

“Aleix Vidal was signed [last summer] thinking Alves could go”. He helped them to the Primera Division, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble in 2014-15 and won his sixth Primera Division title in the season just ended. We will give it our best shot. “Other clubs did contact me but I came to Juventus precisely because of this team ethic”.

“The club’s history fascinates me”. I also wanted a new experience, in a new country.

“I’m not a star, I’m a hard worker”.

“I’m not someone who looks for an easy ride”.

“I haven’t had the chance to speak a great deal with the coach, but I can imagine what he’ll be asking of me”.

Alves confirmed he will wear the number 23 at Juventus, a nod to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ recent NBA Finals win. “I am excited by the chance to play with players of his quality”. They have some very important players and a great history.
