New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals – 6/27/16 MLB Predictions
That is how the bottom of the first inning began on Monday for the Washington Nationals, and it was a precursor for a night of base hits to almost every corner of Nationals Park.

Next Game: The Washington Nationals and New York Mets will play the second game of their three game series tomorrow night at Nats Park.
Pitcher Steven Matz of the New York Mets goes against Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals.
Right-hander Noah Syndergaard is also dealing with a bone spur in his pitching elbow but has less discomfort than Matz, Alderson said. The Mets fell to 3.5 games behind the Nationals for the NL East lead after Monday’s loss.
The Nationals stole six bases – five against Syndergaard – matching their most since the franchise moved to Washington in 2005.
Syndergaard pulled himself from his last start because of elbow tightness, then took the mound against the division-leading Nationals with hardly a sign of his trademark command.
Matz, 24, has been struggling in June, posting a 5.91 ERA and has not exceeded six innings in any of those starts.
Washington erased the early 4-0 deficit against Syndergaard (8-3), who had won six consecutive decisions and had not lost since May 6.
Logan Verrett will start in the series finale against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday. “The first inning I was a little erratic, felt too strong out there not that that’s a bad thing but I just wasn’t able to locate”. Rendon had a sacrifice fly in the sixth to give the Nationals a 11-4 lead against reliever Erik Goeddel, but most of the damage was done with five runs in the third and four in the fifth. Yates (2-1) hit three batters, and Beltre and Elvis Andrus each hit a two-run single.
Brandon Nimmo recorded his first two major league hits tonight and scored a run in the second inning.
Syndergaard escaped a no-out, bases loaded jam in the first inning, but wasn’t so fortunate in the third. The Nationals called up RHP and reliever Rafael Martin (1-3, 4.40 with Triple-A Syracuse) on Monday after RHP Stephen Strasburg went on the disabled list Sunday.

This game was absolutely alarming for the Mets, who took a gut punch from Washington in the third inning. Revere drove in a run with a fielder’s choice and Jayson Werth had a two-run double to make it 10-4.
