Woman’s Racist Rant At IHOP: ‘We Speak English In America’
Although the clip starts midway through the rant, Vasquez told NBC Los Angeles that it all began because his mother, Norma Vasquez, was speaking Spanish, and the woman interrupted them to give them her two cents. In this video, according to the young man who posted it, a woman can be seen having inserted herself into a Latino woman’s morning by harassing and insulting her for speaking broken English.

“We speak English in America”, the elderly white woman can be heard saying.
A restaurant customer has been caught launching a xenophobic tirade against another woman telling her to “speak English or get out of America”.
“I felt very bad, as though I was worthless”, Norma Vasquez, who works for an office cleaning service, told NBC4.
Carlos Vasquez told NBC Los Angeles: “Inside, I wasn’t upset”.
The woman continues her long lecture, talking about her fears of Nazis telling us what to do, which gets a little confusing. We want English in the United States. “Spanish is from Spain”, the woman says.
The woman then equates speaking English to American freedom, telling the Vazquez family, “Do you want the Russians over here telling you what to do? Do you want the Nazis telling you what to do?”
Vasquez, whose family lives in Highland Park, said he was surprised by the woman’s furor.

Carlos uploaded video of the incident on Facebook and it has since gone viral with over 15 million views and nearly 500,000 shares.
