Report Corroborates Force Touch Home Button for iPhone 7

The Force Touch component is something that was introduced to the Apple MacBook in the previous year and uses force sensors and a Taptic engine to the measure pressure applied by a finger touch so that various gestures can create different responses from the device.

According to their information, Apple intends to introduce a Force Touch home button that will “sit flush” with the front side of the phone, so you won’t have to press it. Apple’s home buttons, in particular, have proven to be one of – if not the most – fragile ones.

Business Insider has noted that the iPhone 7 is already being mass produced, which means that the new Apple handheld will be coming out soon. This haptic feedback technology is already used in the Apple Watch and also forms the basis of the company’s 3D Touch tech, found in the iPhone 6s.

Apple is also rumoured to design next year’s iPhone to look like a single sheet of glass, and this move is just to get users adjusted to that change.

The new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to come with some minor design changes over the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

The analysts also cater to the 3.5mm headphone jack removal rumour, and claim that it will finally be removed from the iPhone 7. As 9to5mac notes, modifying the behavior of the home button will require Apple to find a different way to push the device into recovery mode, as the existing method implies pressing the home and power buttons at the same time while rebooting the phone.

The Home key on iPhone is perhaps one of the most pressed things on the face of the planet.
