Christy Sheats, 42, fatally shot daughters Taylor, 22, and Madison, 17, on Friday in Fulshear, west of Houston, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

Christy Sheats was an enthusiastic gun advocate, using as an excuse that owning a gun was a way to keep her and her family safe. Taylor Sheats was taken by a medical helicopter to a local hospital, where she later died. When she emerged again, she shot Madison in the back, according to the eyewitness. Taylor was airlifted to the hospital and later died. Authorities shot and killed Christy when she wouldn’t put down her.38-caliber handgun.
On her Facebook page, Christy Sheats often posted musings reflecting her love of God, family and guns.
“He would do anything to protect them and he tried to, but Christy was out to kill that day”, said Davey of Jason Sheats. He is also from Alabama.
Since January 2012, the sheriff’s office had responded to 14 calls from the Sheats’ home for “previous altercations” due to the mother’s “mental crisis”. Investigators said some were alarm issues but, due to legal constraints, the office can not release details regarding the calls at this time.
Gillespie said he was not sure how Jason and Christy met but remembers they were inseparable in high school.
A responding deputy and police officer found the girls lying in the street and Sheats with a gun in her hand. “They’re our kids, ‘” neighbor Fazz Zainuddin said. The family had a history of turmoil, and Ms Sheats may have suffered mental health problems in the past.
“Y’all were a part of our family and that will never change”, the relative wrote in a post cited by KTRK-TV.
When officers arrived, they saw Christy Sheats shooting one of her daughters in the street, the sheriff’s office said.

Jason allegedly told his wife to “just shoot herself”.
The sheriff’s office said on Sunday that details about what had prompted the shootings remained murky and that the investigation was continuing.
“On this particular day, she asked him to say “sorry” for this argument”.
Christy’s funeral will be separate and she will be cremated. It’s still unknown what led to Christy’s horrendous decision to gather her family to kill them. In a different post from 2014, she shared a bible verse, James 1:17: “Every good and flawless gift is from above”. “She was mentally unstable”, Davey added.

Taylor was due to Wednesday her fiance, Juan Sebastian Lugo, who was also her college boyfriend of four years, on June 27. “That’s right, I have 10 guns”.
