Both boys had been reported missing shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday near the fairgrounds.
Felt said one boy had been visiting the home of the other near Foot Lake and the fairgrounds.
The boys’ families called relatives and friends to help search for the children. A clothing item was found in the water & rescue crews are actively searching.
Felt said emergency personnel performed CPR on the boys, and he watched Rice Hospital emergency medical staff do their work heroically to try to revive them.
