Severe thunderstorms possible in the Wyoming Valley today

Isolated strong to potentially severe thunderstorms are possible.

Temperatures will be hot, but there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Inland Empire today (Tuesday, June 28), according to the National Weather Service. Thursday and Friday will see a cold front bringing cooler temperatures and a better chance of rain.

Mohave County has the best chance of seeing some early monsoon storms this week, the Weather Service said.

Brown said the storms coming Friday could be more severe.

After this stretch of storms passes, another one is expected to hit the state on Wednesday. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds late in the morning. The good news is that the Independence Day holiday weekend forecast is a good one, he said.

Here’s a look at the days ahead. Mostly clear skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 56.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 86.

Skies will be partly cloudy Wednesday night with a low of 60.
