“The Anniversary Update will help people be more productive, stay safer online and, of course, have fun”, Windows and Devices Group corporate vice president Yusuf Mehdi said in a blog post.
Microsoft will stop offering Windows 10 as a free upgrade to eligible Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 users on July 29th. In any case, we will update you with the latest news as Windows 10 Anniversary update definitely brings new things to be excited about.
Windows 10 was first debuted on July 29, 2015. The Windows 10 update will also have improved Sticky Notes application with the screen capture tool that the users would be able to call from any app. After that, they’ll have to buy it. Windows 10 now costs $119.99. Microsoft says adoption has been faster than previous versions.
Interestingly, Microsoft also lists the conditions that will prevent this prompt from occurring. The Redmond company has spent the past year using whatever tactics it could to get people to upgrade.
Microsoft announcement became after continued criticism for months about the vigorous campaign of updating the Window 10, and the auto-update mechanism is considering a “fraud” from Windows users.
The anniversary update was also touted as making Windows computers easier to set-up and use in schools.
Still, the aggressive push for Windows 10 adoption has sparked a backlash from some PC owners.
Instead, Microsoft thinks it has a better idea: add Messaging Everywhere to an upcoming version of Skype for Windows 10 PCs. He said there will be clearer options allowing users to upgrade now, choose a later time, and even decline the free offer.
Not bad! this time the Windows 10 upgrade notification resembles more to the infamous BSOD.

For existing Microsoft MVPs that focus on Windows, the company will begin transitioning them soon. A significant upgrade has already released by the company in November that added some Skype-based messaging apps, features for some visual tweaks and business. That way, the user’s Microsoft account will have the Windows 10 digital license on file when the customer finally decides to let go of Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 once and for all.
