Ben Arfa: I nearly joined Sevilla”A new phase – PSG 2021″, the 26-year-old posted, becoming PSG’s latest signing just two days after they landed Hatem Ben Arfa from Nice, who Sevilla also wanted to sign.
“Working alongside Unai Emery again obviously counted in my decision”.
During an interview with Le Parisien newspaper in May, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised the fighting spirit and tactical nous shown by Sevilla during its Europa League campaign.
Sevilla officially announced the news which Grzegorz Krychowiak had advanced a short while earlier on his personal Twitter account.
Emery’s focus in Paris is to win the Champions League and Krychowiak, who has spent the past two years in Spain, was a key part of Sevilla winning a third consecutive Europa League title, beating Liverpool in the final in May. “He has been very successful over the past two seasons with Sevilla FC, especially in European competition, and has been one of the standout performers at UEFA Euro 2016, in France”. “Grzegorz represents the values of rigor and combativeness that are dear to the club, to the fans and to our new coach”. “I have no doubt he will become an important member of our squad”, added the Qatari.
