‘The audience are going to get a real sense of shock and surprise – how a sudden death is. “They’re going to feel those emotions”, she enthused.

Following the discovery of Callum Logan’s (Sean Ward) body under the annex in the Platt’s household, with Kylie being Callum’s murderer, Kylie will struggle when her and David are expected to move into the refurbished room.
Coronation Street favourite Paula Lane says her character Kylie’s death will be one of the most shocking in Corrie history.
She suggests the family leave Weatherfield to put the events of the past year behind them but their excitement and future plans are cut short by Kylie’s unexpected death. And she would love to do something completely different from Corrie such as a period drama, or sci-fi.
Being a major character meant that it was likely that Kylie would have a big impactful exit from the show and Paula was happy with that.
NEW photos of the shock death of Kylie Platt have been revealed… and it’s clear to see that Coronation Street’s David will never be the same.
How do you feel about losing Kylie for good?
It was thought that her character, Kylie Platt, and husband David (Jack P Shepherd) might head off into the sunset together or perhaps be sent to prison for killing evil drug dealer Callum Logan. He hasn’t exactly had the smoothest of lives, so we imagine this new heartbreak could cause some serious trouble.
Of her decision to go, she explained: “I have made no secret of the fact I never saw myself being in a long running drama for the rest of my career”.
“I loved spending time with Katherine Kelly and being in her shadow kind of thing when I started at Corrie”, Lane stated. “Creatively I am excited to play it and see people’s reaction”.
“I loved Marcella, loved the style, really gritty”. I’m not just saying this because I’m involved.
As she reflects on her time in the soap, she admits the live episode in September past year stands out as a highlight.

“Hopefully it will leave the audience wanting more”.
