When it comes to fireworks, people need to remember that fireworks are explosives, and any of them can be risky. Many injuries and burns are from children holding sparklers, which get very hot.

Always have an adult supervise fireworks activities. “Most injuries occur to bystanders, so you want to make sure the area in which you ignite is clear”.

Another contributing factor of practicing safe fireworks shooting is having a bucket of water at arms reach.

Make sure to have a garden hose or a bucket of water nearby in case of a fire.

The Florida State Fire Marshal is urging Floridians to celebrate safely during upcoming Fourth of July celebrations.

“If it goes up in the air, which would be like a bottle rocket or roman candle, or explodes like a firecracker, they’re illegal and you can’t use them or have them in the state of Arizona”, Scholl said.
