So why shouldn’t Trump raise money illegally from foreign government officials in complete contradiction to his nativist “America First” campaign based on jingoism and appeals to racist nationalism?

Oddly, most of the emails appear to have been received by politicians who are unlikely to support Trump. As reported by The Hill on June 29, the Clinton campaign is now doubting Trump’s recent fundraising success.

Asked whether the emails could be coming from a source outside the Trump campaign, Fischer explained it’s “theoretically possible”.

“This happens to all campaigns; Trump just happens to be a lightning rod that has garnered this attention”, said Bocskor.

That’s because thousands of wealthy Republican campaign donors – people who have given LOTS of money to previous GOP candidates for President like Mitt Romney – are withholding their money from the controversial candidate.
