Hassan Whiteside Announces That He’ll Re-Sign With the Miami Heat
The Heat agreed to a four-year, $98 million deal with center Hassan Whiteside on Friday and also is purusing Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant and has a meeting scheduled Sunday with Durant. Even with the Heat planning to counter to a higher figure, league sources said, Wade has been insistent on starting to explore the market and meet with teams once he returns from an overseas vacation, league sources said.

The Miami Heat have reportedly made a huge move early in the free agency period. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical, four teams have offered Wade a two-three year deal and more than $20 million per season.
Whiteside opened this past season as a starter for the Heat before being played mostly as a reserve over the second half of the season.
According to multiple sources Wade is becoming frustrated with the Heat.
As for Tyler Johnson, a restricted free agent, he could end up receiving a sizable offer that would force the Heat to decide if it wants to sign him to a long-term deal.
Coming into 2016 National Basketball Association free agency, one of the names that has been on the minds of Los Angeles Lakers is undoubtedly Hassan Whiteside of the Miami Heat.
If they whiff on Whiteside, the Lakers would be wise to pursue supplementary free agents to compliment their young core and allow them to shine.
In New York, Wade would join his friend Carmelo Anthony on an improved roster. If Miami is going to land Durant and keep Dwyane Wade, it will have to create extra cap space.
Last year, Whiteside finished the year averaging 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game. “Our goal is to be better than last season”. “I find it flattering because in my past I was trying to call teams [for tryouts]”.

Their negotiations became so arduous last year that it took a meeting with owner Micky Arison to reach a resolution on a one-year, $20 million contract.
