Jazz finalizing Trey Burke trade with Wizards
The Wizards gave up a 2021 second-round pick in that deal.

Nicholson was the 19th overall pick in the 2012 draft and averaged 6.5 points in four seasons with Orlando.
Garrett Temple, who has spent the last four years with the Wizards and is an unrestricted free agent, could be on his way out door with more teams having expressed interest than ever before, league sources tell CSNmidatlantic.com on Saturday night. Once a promising prospect coming out of Michigan, Burke’s “value” is so low now that Washington was able to get him humorously cheap, as most second-round picks don’t even make the National Basketball Association.
The former Michigan Wolverine averaged 10.6 points and 2.3 assists in 64 games off the bench last season, shooting 41 percent overall and 34.4 percent from three-point range – a career-high.
Burke was traded from the Jazz to the Wizards on Sunday in exchange for a future second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! He fell completely out of Quin Snyder’s rotation in the second half of the season, not playing a single minute in 18 games. The Wizards wound up being the beneficiaries, finding a backup point guard to play behind John Wall for a fraction of the cost of players such as Ish Smith, D.J. Augustin, Matthew Dellavedova, Tyler Johnson and Jerry Bayless, all of whom signed for somewhere between $6 million and $12.5 million per season over the opening three days of free agency. Burke’s role, however, declined last season with the emergence of Dante Exum and Utah made a decision to move on from Burke this summer. Of note, Nicholson improved his efficiency previous year, shooting career highs from the floor (53.6%) and 3-point land (36%).

In a likely related move, Czech prospect Tomas Satoransky is reportedly not interested in coming to the Wizards this season.
