The playback singer, who is at the centre of a controversy for hurling abuses at a female journalist on Twitter, had yesterday accused the latter of being an ‘anti-national, ‘ while adding that the war has not ended and he will give a proper reply in his defence. In his tweet, the singer suggested that it was an incident of “love Jihad” and that her attacker was a Muslim. Mumbai police wrote back and advised her to approach Delhi police and asked her to lodge a formal complaint.
After a female journalist, Swati Chaturvedi, informed the singer that the murderer was a man called Ramkumar and pointed out that the singer must be arrested for stoking communal hatred, he lashed out at the journalist and hurled abuses at her.
He added, “It all started when I tweeted for “justice for Swati” in connection with the murder case and these people gave it a communal angle. And I called that out and said that such things can start off riots”. “The journalists who trolled me are known anti-nationals”.
The singer got into a tiff with the journalist who then tagged Mumbai police on Twitter demanding action against him. Such journalists are a blot on the nation.
“I represent my Hindu community and my religion and I am concerned for their welfare”.

Even as a storm has been brewing over his abusive tweets following his terming of Chennai Infosys employee S Swathi’s murder as a case of “love jihad”, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya was in a defiant mood.
